Common questions
Is Pentip free?
Yes, to start: your first five documents are free. Pentip Pro adds unlimited documents, iCloud sync, export, your own templates and Shape Snap, billed through the App Store.
Does Pentip work with Apple Pencil?
Yes. Pressure and tilt shape every stroke, and on Apple Pencil Pro a squeeze opens a palette at the tip. With Pentip Pro, a stroke you hold at the end snaps into a clean shape. On iPhone you write with your finger.
Can Pentip read my handwriting?
Yes. Search finds handwritten words in all ten languages Pentip speaks, Arabic and Turkish included, as well as typed text, the text in PDFs and the values in form fields.
Can I write on PDFs and fill in forms?
Yes. Import a PDF, write on it, type into its form fields and sign it. You can also scan paper pages with the camera. Exporting the result is part of Pentip Pro.
Which devices does Pentip run on?
iPad and iPhone with iPadOS or iOS 18.2 or later, and Mac with macOS 15.2 or later.
Does Pentip sync between my devices?
Yes, with Pentip Pro. Your documents sync through your own iCloud, so they are on your iPad, iPhone and Mac.
Does the app collect my data?
No. There is no account and no tracking in the app, and its App Store privacy label says Data Not Collected. Your documents stay on your device and in your iCloud.
Which languages does Pentip speak?
English, Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.
